Google's Pixel Buds Get Track Skipping, Better Bluetooth Device Switching

Google’s Pixel Buds finally let you skip tracks with a double tap

Google is also allowing users to customize the double-tap action.

Double tap: Until now, double tapping let you hear notifications as they arrived on your phone.

Store visitors will get the opportunity to go hands-on with the tech in an interactive environment, alongside Google Assistant queries hidden throughout the store.

Lastly, Pixel Buds now work better when paired to multiple devices.

Last year Google launched the Pixel Buds, the company's answer to the increasingly popular style of wireless headphones (or earbuds to be more accurate).

Now, you can simply select the Pixel Buds on the new device's Bluetooth menu and the headphones will automatically switch sources.

The first new addition is the ability to manually turn Pixel Buds on/off with a triple tap on the right earbud. This is useful if you don't want them to start playing music accidentally - something the headphones were prone to when handling thanks to the large touch-sensitive area.

In an announcement on its blog, Google has revealed several new ways that users can interact with their Pixel Buds. You can continue to use a Google Assistant voice command to skip tracks, even if you assign two taps to the "next" track feature.
