'The House That Jack Built' Trailer Shows Off Brutality

'The House That Jack Built' Trailer Reveals Lars Von Trier's Controversial Serial Killer Movie

Previously films at Cannes had been viewed at a morning press screening.

Von Trier's new film, which stars Matt Dillon and Uma Thurman, follows the life of a serial killer in Washington over a period of a dozen years.

And Lars von Trier's new movie, The House That Jack Built, found audience members walking out part way through viewing.

Lar von Trier's latest movie, "The House That Jack Built", prompted horrified groans and more than 100 walkouts during its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday night. The film marked Lars' return to the French movie event, seven years after he was banned for comments he made about Nazism.

- Kyle Buchanan (@kylebuchanan) May 14, 2018I've never seen anything like this at a film festival. "It's disgusting", one woman said on her way out", he tweeted. "The House That Jack Built is a dark and sinister story, yet presented through a philosophical and occasional humorous tale". "So they are expressed instead through our art".

Seattle approves 'Amazon Tax' to alleviate city's affordable housing crisis
With more than 45,000 employees in the city, Amazon could pay more than $10 million alone. A point-in-time count past year tallied more than 11,600 homeless people in King County.

There may have been a few walkouts throughout the film's more brutal scenes, but, like numerous director's films, there were plenty who found merit in it.

The film itself focuses on the story of the character "Jack" - who is portrayed by Matt Dillion - and his development as a serial killer. Time and again we've heard about movies that have left audience members fainting in the aisles but have actually turned out to be considerably tamer than first believed.

The trailer for "The House That Jack Built" can be viewed following this article. The House That Jack Built's plot synopsis: "USA in the 1970s". Along the way we experience Jack's descriptions of his personal condition, problems and thoughts through a recurring conversation with the unknown Verge - a grotesque mixture of sophistry mixed with an nearly childlike self-pity and in-depth explanations of, for Jack, unsafe and hard maneuvers.

However, Setoodeh reported that those remaining in the cinema did give its director an ovation after its finale.
