Cheney: US should restart harsh interrogations, backs Haspel

Green Beret and former UFC fighter Tim Kennedy waterboarded himself on Saturday in support of President Trump's nomination of Gina Haspel for CIA director and to prove the controversial interrogation method which he called

Former Vice President Dick Cheney said on Wednesday that the United States should restart the enhanced interrogation practices used on terror suspects after 9/11, adding that Senate should confirm Central Intelligence Agency nominee Gina Haspel.

That was when Bartiromo asked the vice president who served under former President George W. Bush about torture.

The torture program was illegal at the time based on worldwide treaties the U.S.is a signatory to, including the Convention Against Torture and Geneva Convention, but no one has ever been held accountable.

Speaking to Fox Business' Maria Bartiromo in an interview that aired Sunday, Cheney said the techniques, such as waterboarding, helped aid in the capture of Usama bin Laden in the aftermath of the September 11 terror attacks. But critics have said she should have been more forceful in denouncing torture and Mr. Paul has said she had not come fully clean on her role in the agency's harsh interrogation and secret prison programs in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.

Injured right back and team leader Dani Alves was replaced by Manchester City's Danilo and Corinthians' Fagner . The defender was ruled out last week with a knee injury.

Green Beret sniper Tim Kennedy wholeheartedly supports Haspel's nomination, calling her an "amazing hero". "I think what we did helped ultimately produce the intelligence we needed to be able to get (Osama) bin Laden", Cheney said.

"We have had 17 years to digest what happened after 9/11, and, of course, much has been made about the torture programs and the interrogation programs", the Fox host suggested.

While most Senate Democrats, including Intelligence Committee veterans like Dianne Feinstein, have announced their opposition to Haspel's nomination, their pretensions to oppose torture and demand a higher moral standard in the CIA leadership are belied by their own records. They wouldn't tell me when they were going to put the towel on they would just smash it on my face and start pouring.

So far, we know of only two Democrats voting for Haspel - Sens. It is known she played a key role in what is being termed "brutal interrogation" of suspects involved in Islamic terrorism. "And I'd go back and study them and learn".
