Rosenstein May Be Using a Legal Technicality to Protect the Russia Probe

President Trump sits with Attorney General Jeff Sessions during the FBI National Academy graduation ceremony in Quantico Va

President Trump already has been told he is not a target of the Mueller investigation, according to previous reports.

The White House has in the past denied that Trump is considering firing Mueller. One person told Bloomberg that the president wanted to avoid making any moves that would prolong the investigation. "President Trump is inches away from firing Robert Mueller and derailing the entire Russian Federation investigation".

The president signaled on Wednesday that he wanted to get the investigation over with as soon as possible and reminded reporters that Rosenstein and Mueller are "still here" despite near-constant speculation he might fire them.

Likewise, Trump hasn't totally nixed the idea of firing the duo in the future.

His boss, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, recused himself from investigating matters related to the presidential campaign.

The meeting, first reported by the Washington Post, comes as the GOP chairmen of the House Oversight, Intelligence and Judiciary committees have demanded that DOJ turn over copies of James Comey's memos detailing his encounters with Trump to Congress.

Dreeben said the special counsel had explicit authority from Rosenstein to probe Manafort's Ukraine dealings based on an August 2017 memo.

Joseph directed detectives to bring "full uniform and any issued protective equipment (riot gear)" to work each day, until directed otherwise.

"The protest would be semi-spontaneous and more than likely happen on short notice", the memo said.

"That's why we're preparing to hold emergency "Nobody Is Above the Law" rallies around the country, in the event they are needed - 800+ of them and counting, in every state, with 300,000 RSVPs to date!"

On Monday, a federal judge ordered attorneys representing Cohen and the Manhattan US attorney's office to each put forward four nominees for special master, an independent lawyer tasked with sorting through seized communications and sorting out those that are privileged.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that "at least half a dozen " countries were considering moving their embassies to Jerusalem following the U.S. decision to do so.

Jackson expressed doubts over arguments that Mueller should not have been able to bring charges Downing called unrelated to Russian Federation or Moscow's potential coordination with Trump's campaign.
