Stabbing on BU's Campus, Suspect At Large

I regret to inform you that Joao Souza, a Blind Brook Class of 2017 graduate and Binghamton University freshman engineering student, was stabbed to death late last night.

The victim was identified as a 19-year-old male who is a first-year student.

The school, one of the four university centers in New York's sprawling state university system, canceled classes Monday due the "tragic event". The suspect was "described as a light-skinned male wearing dark trousers and a dark Puma hooded sweatshirt", according to the university, and he "remains at large".

According to the University, a 19-year-old male student was stabbed on campus around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities didn't disclose that the name or any other information in regards to the suspect at a 5 pm news seminar, besides to express he was also a Binghamton University scholar.

"Investigators from multiple agencies have been interviewing numerous people throughout the night", a statement from the university read. On March 9, the human anatomy of Haley Anderson, of Westbury on Long Island, was found in the apartment of the fellow-student she had outdated.

University police released few details about the ongoing investigation and said it's possible the suspect was still armed.

The University is offering a number of services for students, faculty and staff following the incident.

The Broome County district attorney's office is now now seeking to possess this suspect came back from Nicaragua to stand test.
