Sega Ages Bringing Classics To Switch Beginning In Summer 2018

Sega FES 2018 Announcement

The story is now developing and we'll report back with details as they're provided. The guesses were made under the assumption that SEGA would actually announce something worthwhile, but as stated before, SEGA typically doesn't have many exciting announcements during its FES events.

The upcoming Sega Mega Drive Collection has a May 29 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

It's also worth noting that over the last few years we've seen third-party licensed mini Mega Drive / Genesis consoles, and it's not yet clear whether this is another example of the publisher's past collaboration with manufacturer AtGames, or something new and more in-house. The Sega Mega Drive Mini launches in Japan later in 2018.

The game will include both English and Japanese voiceovers, visuals options for PC, a choice between modern and classic control schemes, fully scalable screen resolution, and it will come both in physical and digital forms. Over 15 games will arrive on the Switch eShop this Winter in Australia. It seems likely we'll see similar fare here, though that hasn't stopped me from maniacally daydreaming of seeing Skies of Arcadia show up on the Switch in this fashion (it absolutely won't). It will be coming to Japan and the West this summer.

We don't get the box set, but we can pick and choose.
