Maple Leafs Nazem Kadri's dangerous hit has no place in hockey

Leafs forward and 30-goal scorer Nazem Kadri has been suspended for three playoff games by the Player Safety group for recklessly boarding Tommy Wingels in the third period of Boston's 5-1 Game 1 win at TD Garden.

Seconds after Wingels caught Maple Leafs winger Mitch Marner with a high hit, Kadri left his feet and drove the kneeling Wingels' head into the boards.

Kadri received a five-minute match penalty and game misconduct on the play.

Bruins center Riley Nash is getting closer and closer in his recovery from an ear injury, but the 28-year-old skater is not expected to rejoin his teammates for Game 2 of the opening round Stanley Cup Playoffs Saturday vs. Toronto.
