Kathua rape case: PDP wants two BJP ministers out, may break alliance

In Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua, an eight-year-old girl was repeatedly gangraped and later murdered while in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao a teenager has accused a BJP MLA of raping her and the UP government of inaction on her complaint.

Sources in the know of the development said that after the Chief Minister demanded their resignation, Ministers Choudhary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga submitted their resignation to state BJP chief Satpal Sharma. "So, the lesson to them is not to believe one side or the other and let the law take its course", she said, adding that they should not have joined the protest.

In the Unnao case, Lekhi said action is being taken against the BJP MLA who was accused in the case.

The minor girl, who belonged to the nomadic Bakerwal Muslim community, had disappeared from her her house in Kathua on January 10.

During initial investigations, the police arrested a juvenile.

Salisbury attack: Chemical weapons watchdog confirms United Kingdom findings on nerve agent
Britain has said the use of such an obscure poison indicates Moscow was either to blame or had lost control over its nerve agents. Russian Federation has denied involvement in the attack and contends Britain has not provided evidence to support its allegation.

Amid worldwide outrage over the rape and murder of a minor girl in Kathua district of Indian Occupied Kashmir, Chauhan has given a weird theory, saying enemy agents are involved in stirring unrest in the contested valley.

The charge sheet has revealed that the girl was held in a temple, drugged, gang-raped and later killed. A week later, her body was found in the same area, and medical examination pointed towards sexual assault.

Later, the case was transferred to the Jammu and Kashmir Police's Crime Branch.

The prime suspect in the case has also been charged with bribing local police officials, including a Sub-Inspector and a Head Constable, to destroy evidence. Lekhi also accused the Congress, whose president Rahul Gandhi had last night led a candlelight march here in protest against the growing incidents of crime against women in the country, of "picking and choosing" and said the opposition party had not protested in a similar manner against the Assam case or the 2012 gangrape case in Delhi.
