Eintracht Frankfurt coach Niko Kovac set to join Bayern Munich

Kovac predestined for Bayern, says Heynckes

Niko Kovac will take over from Jupp Heynckes as the coach of Bayern Munich this summer, according to a report in Germany.

Real, who have won the competition 12 times, reached the semi-finals by fighting off a remarkable Juventus comeback before Ronaldo scored a late penalty to give them a 4-3 win on aggregate.

A close friend of Bayern's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, Kovac is expected to have his brother Robert as his assistant at the Allianz Arena.

"There is no reason to doubt that I will be the coach of Frankfurt next season", said Kovac, a former coach of the Croatia national team.

Weekly magazine Sport Bild and its sister daily publication Bild reported that Bayern have chosen Kovac to be their new boss.
