Brewery serving tarantula-topped burgers

Bull City Burger is celebrating its sixth anniversary by serving burgers with meats from around the globe.

A restaurant in North Carolina is asking people if they're fearless enough to take the tarantula challenge. Customers interested in giving the burger a try should visit the restaurant on East Parrish Street in Durham to put their name in the running.

But the challenge requires more than "the most daring of taste buds".

Other exotic meats featured during the promotion include alligator, camel, turtle, reindeer, goat, and bug-topped guacamole burgers.

The tarantula is oven-roasted, and placed on an otherwise all-beef burger with gruyere cheese, a spicy chili sauce within a baked bun.

Bull City points out numerous Exotic Meat Month menu items are eaten by people of other cultures on a daily basis.

Bull City Burger and Brewery has served one tarantula burger every day since April 4, and the lottery continues through April 29, while supplies lasts. You can stay up-to-date on the tarantula challenge by following Bull City Burger on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
