Saudi Arabia intercepts Yemeni rebel missiles, drones

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

Yemen's armed Houthi movement launched a drone strike on a Saudi owned oil facility in Southern Saudi Arabia, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing al-Masirah, the Houthi-founded TV station.

Until recently, the GPC was headed by former Yemeni President Ali Abullah Saleh, who was killed late a year ago outside capital Sanaa by members of the Shia Houthi militia group. There was no immediate comment from the coalition.

The Saudi-led coalition has been fighting to reinstate the internationally-recognized government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi who was forced into exile by the Houthis.

Meanwhile, the Saudi coalition fighting the Houthis in Yemen said its air defences shot down two unmanned drones in the south of the country.

The United Nations says 10,000 people have died in the three-year-old war, and three out of four Yemenis - 22 million civilians - need relief aid.

Mubarak, who has been outspoken against Israel's occupation in Palestine, said he will not be deterred. Meanwhile, the soldiers in the video were defended and praised by senori Israeli officials.

According to Conflict Armament Research (CAR), the Qasif-1 drone is said to resemble Iran's Ababil-2 drone and is the latest in a line of weapons Tehran has allegedly sent the Houthis.

Saudi Arabia accuses Iran of backing the Houthis, a charge Iran has denied.

The next day military sources said that among the killed Sudanese forces were two second battalion commanders, including Lt. Col. Ibrahim of El Hazem Brigade, and a financial affairs officer of the Sudanese Military Intelligence in Yemen named Tawfig Bashir Ahmed.

One of the drones was targeting the Abha worldwide airport in Asir province, which led to a temporary suspension of air traffic, and a second was approaching a "civilian object" in Jizan province, he said.

Maliki said that after examining the debris of the object, specialists of the joint coalition forces said it was found to be a hostile Houthi aircraft with Iranian characteristics and specifications that were trying to target the airport protected under global humanitarian law.
