Russian Federation warns U.S. against Syria strike

CRISIS IN SYRIA: Trump Cancels Trip to 'OVERSEE' America's 'Response'

The US push for a new inquiry came amid heightened tensions over possible US military action in Syria, with President Donald Trump saying that "major decisions" would be taken within 48 hours.

That, in turn, triggered a tweetstorm from Trump, who fired back: "Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria". "Get ready Russian Federation, because they will be coming, nice and new and "smart!"

Moscow has cautioned the US not to launch a military attack.

"Russia is holding the Syrian people to political ransom by supporting a regime responsible for at least 4 heinous chemical attacks against its people".

Two F-15 aircraft from the Israeli Air Force delivered a strike with eight missiles against Syria's T-4 airfield in the Homs province on Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

A senior Russian lawmaker says that a USA strike on Syria could trigger a direct military clash between Russia and the United States. Recently, Washington stepped up its pressure by kicking out 60 Russian diplomats last month to join Britain's retaliation over the disputed ex-Russian spy poisoning case, and launching sanctions against Russian business leaders and high-ranking officials in the two months over alleged Russian intervention in the US 2016 presidential elections.

The officials say none of the three countries' leaders have made a firm decision. Haley warned that the U.S. will "respond" and that "important decisions" are being weighed upon. Multiple IS attacks have targeted French soil, including one last month.

More than 133,000 people have fled a suburb of the Syrian capital, Damascus, in the face of the government's military onslaught, the United Nations refugee agency said Tuesday.

Moscow and the Syrian regime deny any involvement in the gas attack on the rebel-held town of Douma. "For this particular strike, (secrecy) doesn't matter that much". He said that Russian Federation has "the necessary means for that, and the Americans and their allies know that quite well". "It was terrible", Trump said at the start of a Cabinet meeting where possible military action was discussed.

He spoke to British Prime Minister Theresa May over the phone on Tuesday to discuss the crisis.

"They agreed that reports of a chemical weapons attack in Syria were utterly reprehensible and if confirmed, represented further evidence of the Assad regime's appalling cruelty against its own people and total disregard for its legal obligations not to use these weapons", a read-out of the conversation of May, Trump and Macron read.

Mr. Trump met at the White House with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who told reporters that he and Mr. Trump "see eye to eye" on the Syria problem.

Nikki Haley, US ambassador to the United Nations, during a UN Security Council meeting at United Nations headquarters in NY on April 10, 2018.

'The president will remain in the United States to oversee the American response to Syria and to monitor developments around the world'.

Meanwhile, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has said the Syrian and Russian governments have invited it to conduct a fact-finding mission on the ground in Syria to "establish facts surrounding the allegations of the use of toxic chemicals, reportedly chlorine, for hostile purposes in the Syrian Arab Republic".

US military action similar to last year's would likely not cause a shift in the direction of the war that has gone Assad's way since 2015 with massive aid from Iran and Russian Federation.
