MLB Predictions: Will the Royals upset the Indians again? 4/8/18

Cleveland Indians Francisco Lindor is wrapped around the legs of Kansas City Royals 2nd baseman Ryan Goins

Lucas Duda homered off Trevor Bauer for the game's only run and Ian Kennedy pitched six shutout innings, leading the Kansas City Royals to a 1-0 win over the Cleveland Indians on Saturday in frigid, football-like weather conditions.

Gomes was mobbed by his teammates at home plate after just the fourth hit of the afternoon for the Indians. SportsTime Ohio will be televising the action and the opening pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. ET.

The forecast for Sunday's game in Cleveland is for temperatures in the mid 30s.

"I knew I got it, but I kept looking up and I was like, 'Oh no, is the wind going to kill it?' " Gomes said.

"You have to figure out a way to stay warm", he said.

Limited to one hit through six innings by Bauer, the Royals took the lead on Duda's second homer, a searing shot into the seats in right field. "Understand that I'm listening to my body and understand exactly what's going on and how I feel every day and make sure I'm being honest with myself and with this team".

Kennedy (1-0) gave up four hits and did not walk a batter in his second start of the season, dropping his ERA to 0.75 after giving up one run a no-decision against the White Sox. Cody Allen (1-0) worked the ninth for the win. Tribe fans hoped this meant the bats were awakening but the Indians failed to score for the rest of the game, the whole next game, and the first seven innings of the series finale. But Jose Ramirez followed with a check-swing dribbler, bringing home Zimmer with the tying run. I expect him to pitch well on Monday against an up and down Mariner offense. The Indians are scheduled to play home games in each of the next seven days. Clevinger pitched 5.1 scoreless innings against the Angels on Monday, allowing just four hits with five strikeouts.

"He's an easy guy to bet on", manager Terry Francona said.

"If a pitcher wants to throw more, they've got to get out there", Francona said. Cleveland is now getting 68 percent of the wagers for this game as the home favorite against the Royals.

Cuthbert is averaging 5.2 FanDuel points per game this season.

Indians right fielder Lonnie Chisenhall is likely headed to the disabled list with a right calf injury. They're hoping he remains for the long haul after playing without him for much of the past two seasons. Outfielder Tyler Naquin is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Columbus.

Cleveland's Mike Clevinger is 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA in four career starts against the Royals, who will go with right-hander Jason Hammel in the series finale. Cleveland is 7-2 in Kluber's last 9 starts against Detroit and 4-1 in his last 5 home starts against the Tigers.
