Have forgiven killers of Rajiv Gandhi: Rahul

Rahul Gandhi

Gandhi, 71, who was Congress president for 19 years was replaced by her son Rahul last year after internal party elections.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi has said that he and his sister Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra have forgiven the assassins/killers of their father and former prime-minister Rajiv Gandhi.

"Whatever the reason, I do not condone any kind of violence", said Rahul during an interaction with alumni of the Indian Institutes of Management in Singapore. "We were very upset and hurt for many years we were quite angry".

Rahul Gandhi's comments in Malaysia today were reminiscent of what he said during a tour of the United States of America that he undertook past year.

"When one realises that when these events take place, its collision of ideas, forces, confusion". When I witnessed LTTE chief Prabhakaran's demise on TV that realized two issues: why were the Lankan army personnel so brutal in killing them; the second thing that struck me was his family.

Aviation authority grounds eight IndiGo and three GoAir aircraft with faulty engines
Clarifying its position, Pratt & Whitney in a statement said: "We are working closely with our customers to minimize disruption". The corrective action has been approved and we have already begun to deliver production engines with the upgraded configuration.

A fresh probe should be initiated into the death of the former prime minister, he said, further hinting that there was some "understanding" of the family with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

Asked how he would have rolled out demonetisation differently, Gandhi said "if I were the Prime Minister and somebody would have given me a file with demonetisation written on it, I would thrown it in the dustbin, out of the door and into the junkyard".

"I was 14 when my grandmother was assassinated". I used to play badminton with those who killed my grandmother. During a casual question-answer session, Rahul replied in the affirmative when a student asked if he had forgiven his father's killers. He was quoted saying, "We knew that my father was going to die". So you live in a particular environment.surrounded by 15 guys from morning noon to night.

"That is how I would have rolled it out, because that is what I think should have been done with the demonetisation which was not good at all", Gandhi went on to add.
