The Sandman Universe Coming From Neil Gaiman

The Sandman Universe Coming From Neil Gaiman

EW can exclusively announce that DC Comics is launching a Sandman Universe line of four new comic series.

The four writers will then be tasked to write tales for the four comic book series within the Sandman Universe: "House of Whispers", "Books of Magic", "The Dreaming" and "Lucifer". "I get to see the joy in these brilliant people whom I've selected, as they get their chance to play in this world".

The Sandman Universe will launch with The Sandman Universe #1, a one-shot that will reintroduce the franchise's universe and characters while setting up the stories of the four individual books, The Dreaming, House of Whispers, Lucifer and Books of Magic, which will be released monthly afterward.

DC hasn't announced any artists aside from Bilquis Everly and cover artist Jae Lee on the Sandman Universe one-shot, but we expect to hear more at Emerald City Comic Con this weekend.

Europe's firm response to stop short of trade war with Trump
Trump's trade war comments suggested he has only a rudimentary idea of how the economy works and what an actual trade war is. On Thursday, Trump said the United States will set tariffs of 25 percent for steel and 10 percent for aluminum.

The Sandman Universe #1 will release on August 8 with The Dreaming and House of Whispers hitting shelves in September, and Lucifer and Books of Magic coming out in October.

Joshua is IGN's Comics Editor. DC has yet to reveal the artists for the four Sandman books.

- "Books of Magic:" Gaiman and John Bolton's young sorcerer Timothy Hunter returns, now torn between two disparate destinies, namely his dreams of becoming the world's greatest magician, and the one shown in his nightmares of becoming its worst villain. According to Gaiman, Morpheus' successor, Daniel a.k.a. Dream, has gone missing, and the implications of his absence will be felt throughout the four books. Finally, The House of Whispers will explore the latest addition to the Dreaming, which has somehow found its way there alongside the House of Secrets and the House of Mystery. The series' will explore the mystery of the tutelar house's appearance alongside the House of Mystery and House of Secrets. Dream is nowhere to be found, and in the meantime Lucien, the librarian of the Dream Library, and Matthew, a talking raven who used to be a living man, set out across a changed Dream-world on a unusual adventure. But it's a huge sandbox with so many wonderful toys that nobody's getting to play with right now. I liked the idea of getting the toys played with again, reminding people how much fun this is, and also getting the opportunity to work with some fantastic writers. Watters will write Lucifer as the titular character is blind and destitute, trapped in a quiet town where no one can leave. People will ask, "Can we do this?" and I'll be like, "No". Let's bring it all back, let's have fun with it.

Timothy Hunter may be destined to become the most powerful magician in the universe, but he's still a London teenager and having magical abilities complicates things more than it helps. And now, Robot Chicken is here to help you get that look for yourself!
