Hardik Patel attacks PM Modi

Patidar community leader Hardik Patel meets West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna State Secretariat in Kolkata

"But we all have to be united to fight those who are trying to divide the country", he confirmed.

"If Narendra Modi comes back to power after the next year's Lok Sabha elections there would be President's rule".

Hardik Patel, the Patidar leader from Gujarat, on Friday hailed Mamata Banerjee as "Lady (Mahatma) Gandhi", drew parallels between her and Indira Gandhi and pledged full support to the Bengal chief minister.

Mamata has been repeatedly making public statements in favour of a formation where regional political satraps play a big role, winning handsomely in their own backyards and then join forces in Delhi.

Criticising Narendra Modi for remaining silent on the important issues, Hardik Patel said he wants to see someone as the Prime Minister of the country who will speak on core issues like education, employment, agriculture, health and security or safety of the country and not someone who spends 90 minutes criticising the opposition in the Parliament. "And yes as I had said yesterday I will definitely come here to campaign during the Lok Sabha elections in 2019", he said. On her part, Banerjee described Patel as "like my younger brother". In response to the question on objective of the meeting, Patel said he was here to seek blessings of Banerjee. "He is fighting for the people of Gujarat.I have asked him to join politics and work for the good of the common man", she said. "He is very good and sensitive".

"I requested him to join politics because political people only make policy decisions". I invited her to come to Gujarat and inspire women.

Asked if a political pact was discussed, Patel said he was invited to join Trinamul when he chose to enter politics. Praising her for her simplicity, Patidar leader said he has learned a lot during his meeting with the Bengal CM. "They have to come together and bring other parties together", Patel said.
