Former NBA Swingman Rasual Butler Died In A Car Accident

He played three seasons in Miami before being involved in the trade that led to the Heat acquiring Eddie Jones, Antoine Walker, Jason Williams and James Posey.

According to TMZ, Butler lost control of his Range Rover at 2 a.m. Wednesday, and the auto crashed into a wall.

Butler's wife, Leah LaBelle, was a former contestant on "American Idol".

Butler is a former college star.

Butler, 38, played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association with nine different teams. The team waived Butler the following March, after which Butler retired from the league. The report also states that police officers believe the auto was speeding when the accident occurred.

A Philadelphia native, Butler attended La Salle University before being drafted in the second round of the 2002 NBA Draft.

Butler most recently played in Ice Cube's BIG3 league. She competed in the third season of "American Idol" in 2004. She signed a deal with Epic Records in 2011.
