New investigation into Kevin Spacey opened by London police

Authorities confirmed today that they have launched an investigation into a new allegation of sexual assault by Kevin Spacey.

It has brought the total number of Metropolitan Police investigations involving the American Beauty actor to three.

Since October, more than a dozen men in both the United States and England have accused the actor of sexual misconduct.

Spacey had served as the artistic director at London's Old Vic theatre from 2004 to 2015 and the venue had claimed last November that it had received 20 complaints of inappropriate behaviour during his tenure. According to TMZ, Scotland Yard is exploring the claims of an alleged victim who told the police December 13 that Spacey sexually assaulted him in 2005.

It comes after security company boss accused Spacey of racism and claimed the actor refused to shake hands with his predominantly black employees while on the set of House of Cards.

Similar allegations quickly began flooding in against Spacey, and he was promptly fired from Netflix's "House of Cards" and Ridley Scott's "All the Money in the World".

The force did not directly link Spacey to the fresh allegation, but said the alleged perpetrator is the same as the subject of earlier complaints.
