Afghanistan to play maiden Test at Bangalore

Afghanistan will play their maiden Test match in the Indian city of Bangalore from June 14 to 18

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced last month that India would host Afghanistan's maiden Test match.

Afghanistan and Ireland were granted five-day status in June a year ago by the International Cricket Council, becoming the 11th and 12th Test-playing nations.

In recent times, Afghanistan have made headlines for all the wrong reasons - internal and security issues. They became 11th and 12th nation to play Test. BCCI helps the Afghanistan in many ways, Afghanistan played Ireland at Greater Noida in March previous year, their home ground.

India and Afghanistan will be playing the latter's first-ever Test match in June at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, BCCI announced on Tuesday.
