Wheelie Bags No Longer Allowed As Hand Luggage On Ryanair Flights

Here's how Ryanair's new cabin bag policy will affect travellers.

Starting today, passengers who choose to take a suitcase into the cabin with them will either have to pay £5 for priority boarding or have it put in the hold.

The main difference will be that passengers will have to wait at the luggage carousel when they arrive at their destination, rather than being able to go straight from the plane through passport control to the airport exit.

"All other customers will be allowed to bring one smaller carry-on bag on board, while their second (bigger) wheelie bag will be placed in the hold (free of charge) at the boarding gate".

It is calling on the Spanish government to favour other airlines which they claim have the real interests of Spanish travellers and their economic situation at heart.

Ryanair's Kenny Jacobs said: "This new policy is centred around lower checked bag fees and bigger bag allowances and we have notified by email all our customers travelling from Monday".

A spokesperson for Ryanair said the new policy was being introduced to eliminate flight delays: "We will delay the introduction of our new cabin bag rules until 15th January 2018, to allow our customers more time to familiarise themselves with the policy changes". The 15kg bag will increase to 20kg.

African condemnation follows Trump's 'shithole' comments
On Sunday, they backtracked and challenged other senators' descriptions of the remarks. The AU representative said they were alarmed by Trump's "very racist" comments.

How much is this costing Ryanair?

Yes, but you will have to pay for priority boarding.

Non-priority customers will still be allowed to bring one smaller carry-on bag onto the aircraft.

Which? said that five big insurers, Aviva, Axa, Churchill, Direct Line and LV, all exclude cover for valuables placed in the hold - even if the passenger had meant to keep the bag with them on the flight.

Why is Ryanair changing this policy?

Ryanair spokespeople have previously railed against passengers "taking the piss" when it comes to hand luggage.

However, Ryanair have said that the process of trying to fit so many bags into the cabin was delaying flights and causing customer irritation. "We're very generous with our cabin baggage allowance". Those who are easyJet Plus cardholders, or customers who've purchased FLEXI fare, Up Front or Extra Legroom, can also take a smaller bag, such as a laptop bag or handbag, that must be stored under the seat in front. Can I still bring a changing bag on board?

"Luckily we had priority so could take two items of hand luggage but then guess what.at the gate we got asked for items to go in the hold #WhatAFaff".
