Hired killers allegedly targeted wrong woman - and killed her anyway

Janice Zengotita Torres Wilfredo Sanchez

The body of Janice Marie Zengotita-Torres was found in Ormond Beach Monday, Jan. 8 after she was reported missing.

As per agents, Ishnar Marie Lopez-Ramos was hoping to kill a lady who was included with a man she additionally had sentimental affections for, as indicated by Fox 35.

Victim Janice Marie Zengotita-Torres, 42, of Kissimmee, was forced into the trunk of her own vehicle, tortured for her ATM card and then suffocated with garbage bags, officials said.

The only similarity between Zengotita-Torres and the intended target was that they both worked at the same store, the report said.

"The suspects showed no regard for this victim, causing her to die from suffocation because the garbage bags were wrapped around her head", Gibson said.

Gibson said the suspects followed Zengotita-Torres after she left work at Ross on Sunday night and accosted her when she got home.

Gibson said that's when Ramos and Rivera realized they had abducted the wrong person, but chose to continue with their plan.

"It was just a mistaken identity", Gibson said.

African Union: Trump 's***hole' remarks dishonor 'American creed'
Hunder said he expects Trump will hear from Haitian President Jovenel Moise and African leaders about the vulgar remark. Outrage continues to grow over comments President Donald Trump denies he made about African countries and Haiti .

Following a series of transactions, police nabbed Lopez-Ramos, who led them to the other two suspects in the case.

The brutal murder of Zengotita-Torres - a 42-year-old mother and wife from Kissimmee, Fla. - was the result of a love triangle gone awry, according to officials.

Sheriff Gibson said, "However, the suspects continued with their plan of murder, and tied the victim with the zip ties and then her head in duct tape and garbage bags". They then drove to a nearby bank where they allegedly withdrew money from the woman's account using her ATM card, according to the sheriff's office.

Ramos-Rivera, Montes and Lopez-Ramos have all been accused of first-degree kill.

Florida police say three suspects are in jail and an innocent woman is dead following a botched murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by a scorned lover.

Gibson praised the actions of the family in securing the arrests. Gloriamarie Quinnones Montes is facing a premeditated murder charge and Alex Ramos Rivera is looking at a first degree murder charge as well, authorities said.

The woman who was the intended target of the murder-for-hire plot has been notified about the scheme against her but has denied protective services, deputies said.
