Serena Williams Shares Terrifying Details of Her Birth Story

Serena Williams’ recent post reflects the bond girls in the family share

Serena experienced a wave of medical and emotional issues after giving birth to her first child previous year, according to a report. Vogue reports that Olympia's heart rate dropped dangerously low, prompting the c-section.

Little Alexis was fine after her September birth, but Williams said that "everything went bad" for her personally.

In an open letter to her mother, Oracene Price, Williams revealed that she has "been called a man", accused of taking performance-enhancing drugs, and told that she didn't belong in women's sports. 'And then everything went bad'.

Serena, because of her history of blood clots, immediately believed she was having another pulmonary embolism. But when she tried to tell a nurse that she needed a CT scan with contrast and heparin (a blood thinner), she says the nurse told her that maybe her pain medication was making her confused. Though the doctors were initially skeptical of Williams' self-diagnosis, she was indeed correct about her condition.

Serena told Vogue, "I was like, a Doppler?" I don't need the money or the titles or the prestige.

The day after the operation, she fell ill and doctors found several small clots in her lungs. Over the next few days, Williams was back in surgery after one of her C-section scars popped open after she experienced coughing spells.

Del Potro, Bautista to meet in final By
Del Potro is seeded 12th in the Australian Open with Bautista Agut 20th, but it was the Spaniard who was in command in Auckland . Del Potro beat Russian Karen Khachanov 7-6 (7/4), 6-3 in his quarter-final.

Serena had planned to return to the court in Melbourne and despite being fit, said she did not feel at the level required to compete.

Romania's world No.1 Simona Halep will face Australian wild card Destanee Aiava as her first round opponent at the Australian Open, while Thursday's draw could also see her go up against Karolina Pliskova in the quarter-finals.

The very next day after giving birth though, Williams had another emergency.

The sports star has a history of blood clots, so she was the one who raised the alarm after she found herself feeling short of breath 24 hours after becoming a mum. "But on top of everything she was going through, the feeling of not being able to help made it even harder. I'm not asking you to like it", she explained in a frank conversation about body critics. Serena Williams is just one of many Black moms who experience serious complications during or after childbirth, and is more clear evidence that not enough is being done to make sure Glack moms get the treatment they deserve.

She added, "I've broken down I don't know how many times". Williams now has 23, but she is aware of what's in the record books and wants to win 25.

The childbirth complications Williams experienced, while rare and incredibly serious, should serve as a wakeup call to public health officials and women, in that her wealth and fame nearly certainly proved life-saving.
