Nigel Farage calls for second referendum on European Union membership

Brexiteers back second EU referendum to stop'soft departure from bloc

The poll comes after former UKIP leader Nigel Farage's shock admission that he is close to backing a second referendum, saying it would "kill off" the Remain campaign for a generation.

"They will go on whinging and whining and moaning all the way through this process".

"In any event, even though we don't think this intervention has materially increased the chances of a second referendum, it does serve to bring it into the market consciousness", the note says.

Nigel Farage has called for a second Brexit referendum, saying that Britain needs to "kill off" the argument about whether Britain leaves the European Union once and for all.

Hours after arguing that another vote would silence those "whinging and whining" who are against leaving the bloc, and with the idea drawing immediate support from pro-EU politicians, he sought to clarify his comments and reversed course.

"Leave would win by a landslide". According to a tracking poll conducted in December, 46 percent of Britons back remaining part of the EU.

"Just because we are leaving does not mean we are doing so."If we do not act radically now, we will sleepwalk into a faux Brexit, in name only".

The ex-Ukip leader told The Independent that Conservatives were "terrified" of considering a second vote, because it would tear their party apart.

Micron Technology, Inc. (MU) Short Interest Down 3.4% in December
The semiconductor manufacturer reported $2.45 EPS for the quarter, beating the Zacks' consensus estimate of $1.85 by $0.60. A number of hedge funds and other institutional investors have recently made changes to their positions in the stock.

"I am dumbfounded to find myself agreeing with Nigel Farage on anything but for once he is right, the British people should vote again and they should vote on two clear options".

"This is something that the country needs".

Leave.EU founder, Arron Banks, supports a re-run.

Host Matthew Wright asked whether Farage wanted a referendum on the "whole thing", which led to Farage suggesting a "multiple choice referendum" would "confuse people". Previously he has insisted that the result of the 2016 referendum had to be respected.

Leave-supporting Tory MPs suggested Farage was simply seeking attention at a time when Ukip has lost its objective and slumped in the polls.

Farage, the former leader of the UK Independence Party, said it would silence "once and for all" the voices of those who oppose Britain's departure from the European Union and want it to be stopped. But there is no need to do it.

Farage originally was opposed to a re-do after successfully pushing for an exit.

"As I have said many times, we will not be having a second referendum", the Prime Minister's official spokesman said.
