Mira Sorvino Hopeful "Time's Up" Stays Focused on Harassment

Mira Sorvino Hopeful

Numerous women who have said these things-like Blake Lively, Selena Gomez, and Kate Winslet, the latter of whom continues to actively praise him in interviews on her current award season press tour-have made the decision to work with Allen in the last few years, after Dylan Farrow published her open letter detailing her accusations of the sexual abuse she suffered as a child. "This is why I also owe Mia an apology", he says in letter. In a piece for the Huffington Post, Sorvino explained that she believes Dylan and stands by her "gratitude and solidarity".

The actress, who apologized for taking so long to address working with Allen, also pledged to never work with him again.

Gerwig made a much-awaited statement about the director when she joined New York Times op-ed columnist Frank Bruni for an with Molly's Game writer and director Aaron Sorkin about their own movies and the year in general. In December, she had a chat with Dylan's brother Ronan, one of the leading reporters of the sexual harassment scandal, who pointed her towards "publicly available details" of Dylan's case, and she now believes her story.

The "Lady Bird" filmmaker expressed her regret for acting in Allen's 2012 romantic comedy "To Rome with Love". The claims were first brought up during Allen's 1992 split from Mia Farrow and Allen has denied the claims ever since.

"It is hard to sever ties and denounce your heroes, your benefactors, whom you fondly admired and felt a debt of gratitude toward for your entire career's existence", Sorvino writes.

Dylan alleged that her father abused her when she was eight years old.

In 1993, Allen was accused by his then seven-year-old adopted daughter, Dylan, of sexual assault.

"I would like to speak specifically to the Woody Allen question, which I have been asked about a couple of times recently, as I worked for him on a film that came out in 2012".

"I am very excited that this movement of "Me Too" and "Time's Up" is taking place not only for myself, but honestly for my daughters, because I can not stand that they would have to suffer what I or just about any other women I ever met has suffered at some point in their life, if not multiple times", she said Thursday.

"I was reached out to, as you know, publicly by Peter Jackson and by Terry Zwigoff, which was very fearless of them both. I am so, so sorry!"

In her letter, Sorvino said she never personally experienced any inappropriate behavior by Allen on set, "but this does not excuse my turning a blind eye to your story simply because I wanted desperately for it not to be so". "From the bottom of my heart, thank you".

Gerwig added: "If I had known then what I know now, I would not have acted in the film". I will never work with him again.
