The guests were mostly students from American University and had arrived for an event named "Tequila Tuesday".

Six students were charged with 126 counts each of furnishing alcohol to minors and allowing minors to possess alcohol.

Neighbors called the cops to complain about the loud music pouring from the house.

The party was being held at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house at American University where they are all students.

And, the partiers drank so much booze that the air inside the house registered a.01 on a police department Breathalyzer, according to Montgomery County Police.

As about 70 people emerged from the house, according to TV station WJZ, officers processed the partygoers with Breathalyzers. When the officers entered the home, they saw windows covered with insulation bags, and beer cans and liquor bottles littered throughout the house. The basement floor was sticky, coated with alcohol. Eight others locked themselves in a bathroom to hide.

Six people face numerous charges after the air inside an off-campus fraternity party in Maryland registered on a breathalyzer, according to police.

The occupants are facing a fine of $315,000 (£235,463), WLJA reported.

Officers breathalysed party goers outside the house, all were between 17 and 20-years-old - which is underage by U.S. laws.
