USADA, IAAF launch investigation into Justin Gatlin doping report

U.S. sprinter Justin Gatlin arrives for a training session ahead of the World Athletics Championships in London. World 100-meter champion Justin Gatlin says he has fired coach Dennis Mitchell follo

Since returning to the track Gatlin has claimed to be clean and has offered to release data from tests in the past five years.

"The complex things are safe in terms of getting tested because they can't find it".

It is alleged Mitchell and Wagner were offered to smuggle prescription testosterone and human-growth hormone acquired under a false name to the United States for $325,000.

The Telegraph said investigations into the actions of those connected to Gatlin are being investigated by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), set up this year by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). In 2006, he served a four-year suspension after testing positive for testosterone, which he said came from a type of cream a massage therapist rubbed onto his leg.

The statement read: "Investigations stemming from tips and whistleblowers play a critical role in anti-doping efforts".
