Greg Pagani: Bureaucrats forging ahead with plan to gut net neutrality

That could be our new reality if and when the Federal Communications Commision (FCC) votes to remove net neutrality. The future of the internet and free information is now being sold to the highest bidder.

In response to the 28 Democratic senators who urged the agency on Monday to postpone the vote, the FCC said in a statement to Ars Technica that it was "just evidence that supporters of heavy-handed Internet regulations are becoming more desperate by the day as their effort to defeat Chairman [Ajit] Pai's plan to restore Internet freedom has stalled". The United States now has deregulated Net Neutrality, meaning internet service providers, or ISPs, must treat all websites equally, can not prioritize certain websites or charge consumers more to use certain websites.

So, what is net neutrality and why are people so worked up about it? They can not discriminate by speeding up or slowing down traffic or blocking content, applications, or websites you want to use.

Of the two ways the vote could be stopped-the first being one of three FCC board members votes no, the second being the vote is blocked by the US Senate- Shasserre said the latter is more likely. "This is a bipartisan issue, and all consumers will be affected!" Much like other public utilities, the Internet has become a necessity.

The Spain global appeared to be facing a bleak future at Stamford Bridge following Conte's appointment back in 2016. Fabregas has already started 12 games this season and admits he was anxious about his future last season.

A Verizon spokesman said consumers had a favorable opinion of the company because it prioritized service over policy debates.

He added that at least one million more comments came from real people whose identities were stolen.

That explanation also doesn't cut it for businesses. We must retain ownership of the Internet and maintain fair and equal access to information for everyone.

The rules prevent phone and cable companies from favoring certain websites and apps and give the FCC more oversight over privacy and the activities of telecom companies. While AT&T did receive criticism over the decision, if the FCC votes to repeal net neutrality, the practice could easily be revived with no limitation. "Net neutrality basically stops [the ISP's] ability to regulate the speed and what information is provided to users". Making it more hard to find unfiltered, unbiased information appears to be a move that would benefit large ISPs and the government a lot more that it would consumers.
