Christiane Amanpour will replace Charlie Rose's PBS time slot after his firing

"Amanpour on PBS" will begin airing on New York's PBS station on Monday and will run on other stations starting December 11, according to Politico.

PBS is offering its member stations a version of 's daily show on CNN International as an interim replacement for the departed "Charlie Rose".

The network is also finalizing plans for a second half-hour public affairs program to complete the hour. The host of that show will be announced at a later date. "Amanpour", which premiered on CNN International in 2012, will continue to air on that network weekdays at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Added WNET president/CEO Neal Shapiro: "We are pleased to welcome her to the PBS system and are gratified to offer this thorough and responsible news program to viewers nationwide". Rose's production company owned the program and offered it to PBS stations. PBS is turning to longtime CNN global correspondent Christiane Amanpour to fill the void left by Charlie Rose's sudden dismissal.

On Nov. 21, a day after The Washington Post reported that eight women have accused Charlie Rose of sexually harassing them, PBS formally cut ties with the famed interviewer and cancelled distribution of his nightly show. The show will carry PBS branding and will be called Amanpour on PBS.

Amanpour has earned eleven News and Documentary Emmy Awards, four Peabody Awards, two George Polk Awards, three duPont-Columbia Awards and the Courage in Journalism Award. PBS' move came on the heels of CBS News' announcement that it had pulled Rose from CBS This Morning and 60 Minutes.
