Bixby 2.0 to Be Announced Next Week at Samsung's Developer Conference

Being a developer conference, Samsung won't be making any hardware announcement at the event.

However, it didn't yield the set the button to perform some other operation, which said a lot about Samsung being serious about its AI assistant, and now that seriousness has been fueled with now Samsung preparing to announce Bixby's version 2.0 which is said to ban an improved sequel.

Not a lot of information about the new version is available now, although Samsung is said to allow support for third party applications and services like the smart TVs and speakers. Google Assistant, for example, has been available for a year and has already expanded to a variety of devices, including smartphones, smart speakers and headphones.

Stay tuned, for more updates on the Bixby 2.0, when it comes out next week on October 18th.

Image recognition feature dubbed as the Bixby vision is said to be the USP of the virtual assistant. Samsung announced the Bixby voice assistant alongside Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ in March 2017, but the launch was delayed by two months due to the assistant's problem to understand English language.

Furthermore, Samsung's mobile business chief Koh Dong-jin also confirmed that the company has addressed all the setbacks in Bixby 2.0, and even said that the assistant will be more powerful now.

Alongside the confirmation of Chung's appointment, Samsung confirmed that they are now working on the "incomplete parts" of the first Bixby release which will be reinforced as the Bixby 2.0 launches. Called Bixby, this assistant was created to go up against key rivals like Apple's Siri, Amazon's Alexa, Microsoft's Cortana, and the Google Assistant on Android. However, do make a note that the current state of Bixby is miles behind the competition.
